So this is a poster design that I did for an environmental class in 2018 and I'm not quite sure how to start with revisions. The images in the design I drew myself, which I think adds some character to it so I kinda wanna keep those.. any ideas?
Mount Wachusett Community College, in Gardner MA offers a 2-year program for Graphic and Interactive Designer students. This final course in the GID program helps students assemble and present their best work produced in the program. This blog is produced by the GID Portfolio class under the direction of instructor Coni Porter.
I like how you incorperated the flower graphic and your artwork into this piece. I feel like the different typefaces are clashing with each other so I think maybe the headings should be a script and the paragraph text be sans serif. I would choose either to use a decorative or script but not both but that could just be my preference. I would also suggest giving "air fresheners" more margin space from the top.
ReplyDeleteI love the sketchbook aesthetic used in this piece. the color pallet is also quite strong. My main criticism on this would be the font used for the header. I feel like it just doesn't fit with the rest of the piece, which incorporates script fonts. I feel like if another script font or even a sans-serif font would fit the header into the rest of the image. The illustrated elements such as the flower, and it's respective background really work for the subject matter of this piece. Overall, I think this piece just needs some minor tweaks and it should be portfolio-ready.
ReplyDeleteMaybe a slightly different approach to the colors and fonts would help convey the seriousness of the environmental issue. The fonts you have chosen here exude lovely, wedding-invitation type feel. Not at all what the message is, right? Consider that this shouldn't look "lovely" - but instead eye catching and interesting.
