Project 4 - Rework

I decided to recreate the second PSA to my domestic violence campaign. My first one expressed fear and the power of words. I wanted this one to communicate the severity of physical and mental abuse. I am working with the same color scheme to keep unity.

  1. Really good, Melissa. It's clear just from seeing the bruise what it's about. I also love the stand-out teal text. My only critique would be to maybe make the bruise even more prominent/puffy and move the teal text to the very middle of the text, next to her eye/cheek, as I feel like my eye looks there for something, so it might look really good there. I think this is a very smart re-work and I like it!

  2. This looks really good so far! I agree with Chelsea that the teal text could be moved to the middle of your text since it could make your design more balanced. I also agree that making the bruise more puffy would help the design show physical abuse and mental abuse.

  3. There is another reason to move the teal text, I'm afraid it will be cut off in the printing/trimming of the printed piece. So... yes, move it down and into the page more to be safe. The bruise could certainly be "angrier" so we don't, on quick look, think it appears to be a bad makeup job! And lastly, the silhouetted edge of her body/face should be crisp and clean before adding that drop shadow. There are areas that looks quite fuzzy. Hmmm... is this a resolution issue? Maybe just here in the Blog? Let's look at this in Photoshop on Tuesday together... I may send you into Select & Mask for some refinement... or not.
