Service Learning--Aquatics Website

Image
Hey guys. Here are screenshots of the Aquatics section of MWCCs site I've been working on. You can also view it live under Mount Fitness to see everything better. The full-size screenshots sometimes squishes the content a bit. So feel free to see it on the actual site as well. The pages were very barren before with minimal pictures and pdf links to information. I added a lot of pictures and color to the pages. Wordpress is limited in a lot of ways and can inhibit certain things. I had to try to work with what I was given as well. Though I'd wish some of the placements or layouts weren't so squished or arranged a certain way, please note I am constrained with what Wordpress is allowing me to do here. Some pages may not have very much content, but I feel the pictures help quite a bit. This is the final potion of my service learning. Comments or suggestions will be appreciated. I'm sure my client will be very happy, as everything is certainly improved. ...

Book Design

Image
I wanted to redesign the cover for one of my most beloved books as a child. I recreated a few character silhouettes in Illustrator, then in photoshop I used a double exposure effect for the silhouettes. I then used bevel & emboss to give the characters a scrapbook effect. For the background I took an image of a forest, scaled it way up, added a color overlay and lowered the opacity. For the text I used an inner shadow and outer glow to create a paper cutout effect.

Project 5 Revisions- Moondog

Image
Here are my revisions to my initial submission of project 5. -Completely Reworked the color palette to something more color neutral, Using mainly black, white, and blue. - Reworked the type to what was suggested, Using a font called Abibas for the black-letter header font. and using Century Gothic for the subhead. -Reworked the background to give more context to the image. in this case using an image of a building on 5th avenue. - Added contrast to the image of Moondog himself, as well as getting rid of the blue overlay that was previously there. -Moved the header to behind the subject of the image to add more visual dynamics. If anyone has any more comments or critique, I'm ecstatic to hear what you have to say!

Project 5 Rework

Image
This was an assignment from Two-Dimensional Design that I made using the computer. The quote is from Steven Universe, which is my favorite show of all time and I'm sad that the show has wrapped up.

Project 4 Rework

Image
This is the final version of a Menu Project I did in Publication Design last fall. This was an actual passion project of mine, since I love ramen bars and making this menu was a lot of fun!

Music Festival Poster

Image
The final project I decided my portfolio needed was something that showcased typography.  I have created a new project that was inspired by the vintage style of music festivals that featured many performers. My concept is a festival called "Earthrise" which is meant to raise money and awareness for our environment.  The variety of typefaces for the bands/performers is intentional, but I feel that they work well together to pull off the overall aesthetic of the composition.  Feedback appreciated.

SOS FINAL - approved by client

Sticky dice final?

Image
So upon revisiting the feedback for my last submission on this piece the main takeaway was the lack of whitespace usage and how jumbled the text looked all cramped in that large block, now I have just the two lines. How does this look?

Project 2: Magazine Final

Image
This is my final verson for my project 2. I fixed some spacing issues and text errors.

This is an updated business card for my brand and identity packet. Based on peoples feedback, I had to make a lot of adjustments but I still had a solid concept.

Updated Type pecimens

Image
Image
This is a small update. I got a lot of great feedback on my logo last time, so I changed the darkness of my name within the image. If this is good I will go ahead and fix other details. I like having a modern look to the font, but it obviously does need to stand out so people can see the name.

This is my resume updated. Colors have been changed and elements have been shifted.

Azimuth Tech final

Image
Made some minor adjustments including the font of Azimuth so it would be more eye-catching. I also changed the color of the logo and the word Evolved to match the blue block.
