Project 5 Revisions- Moondog
Here are my revisions to my initial submission of project 5.
-Completely Reworked the color palette to something more color neutral, Using mainly black, white, and blue.
- Reworked the type to what was suggested, Using a font called Abibas for the black-letter header font. and using Century Gothic for the subhead.
-Reworked the background to give more context to the image. in this case using an image of a building on 5th avenue.
- Added contrast to the image of Moondog himself, as well as getting rid of the blue overlay that was previously there.
-Moved the header to behind the subject of the image to add more visual dynamics.
If anyone has any more comments or critique, I'm ecstatic to hear what you have to say!
Hi Ryan - I am so intrigued with this subject and design, I must have studied it for at least 10 minutes! It has really come along since your first posting. I do like the Abibas typeface. I am wondering if using a handwritten, a grunge or cursive-like typeface would work for the subhead. I almost feel that the Century Gothic is too clean for the aesthetic of Moondog. Have you considered how it would look to put his horn behind the O and G in the title? The only other thing I would play with is trying a contrasting hue in the lettering and maybe making both the text color and blue background less saturated. Great work!
ReplyDeleteThe colors make total sense to me know, and the new font at the top also captures the historic feel. Century Gothic is a clean corporate font... so maybe something more expressive here would make sense. This is looking quite good!
