Project 4 Rework
This is the final version of a Menu Project I did in Publication Design last fall. This was an actual passion project of mine, since I love ramen bars and making this menu was a lot of fun!
Mount Wachusett Community College, in Gardner MA offers a 2-year program for Graphic and Interactive Designer students. This final course in the GID program helps students assemble and present their best work produced in the program. This blog is produced by the GID Portfolio class under the direction of instructor Coni Porter.
I remember you making the website for this, all the hard work payed off, i like the how everything is evenly spaced honestly kinda reminds me of how Kanji is written. One of the best things about this however is each of the small logo like images that is paired to each category.
ReplyDeleteAn excellent job.
There are so many things about this menu that are pleasing to look at. It is a very clean design and the limited use of colors makes it a strong composition. I also love the images that you have used. I am trying to figure out how your menu is folded, because it seems that on each panel that the far right space is very small and close to the margin. You may need to move those over (if possible for the way that your menu folds). I also think that the pattern inside is nice, but very competitive with your body copy. Maybe lower the opacity on the pattern or put a white rectangle with a low opacity behind the text to allow it to pop out more. Nice job.
ReplyDeleteI really love the colors you chose and the illustrations! I like the layout of the menu as well! The fonts you chose work well with the design! The design is also organized which I really like. Overall Great job!
ReplyDeleteI agree with the feedback above, please make sure you are aware of how this folds - I think I understand it, but until it is printed and folded you won't be sure this is set up correctly. I do see that you should either lighten the pattern in back of your body copy, or strengthen the body copy a bit more. I question the large indenting and justification on the 2 paragraphs on the About page. I don't think you need the indent at all, and that might help eliminate some rivers that I can see. Lastly, I wonder if you would consider using the brown color in your logo for the illustrations in your menu that are presently black. Just to add a bit more color to those panels.
