Project 1 Revision

Image
This project is a triptych I had made while in Digital Illustration. Its intent was to be a possible environmental design for a room within the library at the school. While reworking this project my target audience is for ages 7-14. What I am trying to communicate through this design is looking forward into the future, learning, and imaginative thinking. The clock represents time and I also have a representation of learning and exploring from reading a book and VR learning. I chose vivid, 70's retro colors for this piece because of the lines and shapes throughout, and I thought it would unify the design.

Project 3 Malala Illustration

Image
This piece is my illustrated portrait of Malala.  I have chosen a darker hue for the background to create greater contrast with the stack of books.  Any feedback/comments welcomed!

Project 2 PSA

Image
My PSA was for typically forgotten victims of domestic violence, pets.  The purpose of this PSA was to inform and ask for support for the Paws Act to address the safety and shelter needs of these pets.  When creating this design I relied strongly upon color, scale and balance.  Any feedback and/or comments?

Project One- Surreal Landscape

Image
The imagery in this project is based on a poem called "The Poet's Great Days" by Robert Desnos . Using my interpretation of the poem, I created this composition using many photoshop techniques, as well as using design elements, such as line, color and texture to create, what I intend to be a rich and interesting piece of work.   Any comments or feedback would be appreciated.

Menu Design

Image
This is a gatefold menu. The cover has the name of the restaurant named Luna and the back is the image of the moon. My target audience is the middle/upper class. It is a classy, fancy and comfortable Italian restaurant. I chose the colors gold, white, black and grey as my color palette. The design is supposed to be minimalistic. I have made revisions on the Drink menu, the Soup and Salad menu (Zuppe E Insalate), and the front cover. I also made revisions on the business card.

Project 1: Revision --Chelsea

Hey guys! To explain a bit about this project: This was my PSA when I took Design Theory 2 1/2 years ago (left.) It was the first thing I ever made, so it needed a complete overhaul. I saw potential in it and really wanted to improve it (which meant completely remaking it.) When I first created the old one, I didn't even know Illustrator, just photoshop. So, I jumped at the chance to add my own art style to it and make it into something so much better than before.  The one on the right is the new version. Some of you saw it on Tuesday. The changes I made to it were this: I made the cloud a bit lighter and more transparent, added a border and ground beneath the person and added some stats to turn it into a PSA. The biggest change I made was to the umbrella. At home I thought it might look quite a bit better to pull it all down over his head and have more shadows in there and I think it's more successful like this and has more dimension. Please let me know anything else ...

Project 1 Update

My project 1 so far; kinda blanking on where to take it next.

Project 1 Revisions

Here is my first project. I indented the paragraph to the left, I changed the font for the paragraph, darkened the portrait to add contrast, and reworked the background the color isn't as saturated. I appreciate any feedback.
Image
Project 1 I have reworked some of the highlights and colors and I have added a background. I was going for a sort of book cover feel for this. Please leave me feedback on how it came out.

3 Portfolios

http://23in.com/  - Nick Steinhardt: One of my favourite designers of all time. He's really great at using typography in weird and cool ways, and has a lot of awesome record cover designs under his belt. http://www.markmccoyart.com/design  - Mark McCoy Mark McCoy was in a bunch of 90's hardcore bands that he both played in and did the design for, a real pioneer of that kind of design. http://opacity.ru/  - ?? Really awesome cyberpunk HUD design/motion graphics that I've followed for awhile, but their page is in Russian and I can't quite find their name.

Three Portfolios

1) I really like this online portfolio because it feels very minimalistic but unique. The designer definitely showed their own design style. I also like the way it is organized, when you land on their homepage you are right away looking at animations and other pieces. When you click on a certain piece it'll bring you to a page about it, with more pictures of the project. https://www.thidadesigns.com/ 2) This website is simple and straight to the point. It works as a portfolio but also gives clients a place to go and find out pricing, more about the creator, ect. It gives the potential clients a place to go to hire this person.  https://www.obladee.co.uk/projects 3) I just thought this was a really modern and really nicely set up. I like how right when you land on the homepage it's about the creator with a nice personal branding logo and name. It has a lot of little animations throughout to bring more uniqueness to the portfolio. The page highlights what he specializes in...

3 #epic portfolios that inspire

Here are my three choices for portfolios that inspire me. http://www.benmingo.com I love how this portfolio gives all of the elements a fluid almost underwater feeling despite being intangible. https://juliebonnemoy.com This portfolio feels completely on the cutting edge of minimalism. http://www.etiennegodiard.com/decades/ I love the way this one uses color, as well as the use of 3d elements.

Portfolios

Here are three of my favorite portfolios that I've found while searching the internet https://www.behance.net/Jilluss https://www.behance.net/BuslovAlexey https://www.behance.net/pburnett

Portfolios

https://www.rhtcheng.co/ I admire rtchengs portfolio because I like the layout of the website and I like the design that she did for her projects. Some of her website mockups are designed well. https://www.stevewolf.co/ I like the overall layout and the simplistic style of the website. His illustrations for the brands are very creative and simple/ minimalistic which works well with the products. I also like how most of his logos are simple but effective like the snowflake design for the coffee product. http://dnevozhai.com/ One of my favorite portfolio since I love how his website is very interactive. His work is interactive which is interesting and designed well. I like his photography work as well. The photos are shot with great resolution.  https://www.alexcoven.com/      I like how his website is also interactive and the colors of the website which is a bluish-green and white color. For one of his projects, he would show the fon...
Nicholas Turgeon Several Design Varying Portfolios that I found to be inspiring for different reasons. I could not stop at three as I wanted to add a little bit of diversity out of what kind of artwork is shown. 1. https://www.behance.net/strangerandstranger Upon viewing this portfolio at first I was curious and my curiosity rewarded me. One of my favorite things about waking through a package store and or any establishment that sells alcohol is viewing all of the different styles used on the labels of the bottles. This portfolio shows off a variety of labels that I enjoyed scrolling through and looking at.  You can see the various textures of the labels, as well as some, having a unique design all of their own. - 2. https://www.behance.net/andonpongt26f6 I really liked this portfolio, its got a lot of clean designs in here both with an Asian aesthetic as well as a few minimalist designs that I can really appreciate. There are however a few pieces that really...
