Project 1 Revisions
Here is my first project. I indented the paragraph to the left, I changed the font for the paragraph, darkened the portrait to add contrast, and reworked the background the color isn't as saturated. I appreciate any feedback.

I will be leaving town for 4 days, so I'll leave my comments before I go. Question: do you still have too much type on the left? It appears very dense, and not very inviting to read. Consider cutting the type by 1/3, consider enlarging/bolding the important words, add line spacing, and do not use italic for the whole section. Italic is hard to read, and really should only be used for emphasis (so go ahead and emphasize some parts of this... but not all of it). This area needs more attention to the details of creative typography. The quote to the right of the portrait leaves a short line left over, consider breaking the first line after "a". Have you considered using white rather than cream for his name? It could use a bit more contrast, and might be nice to have it unify with that white/gray colors of the portrait.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great illustrated portrait. I think that visually I would work on the background and leave the portrait of Roosevelt as it is. Have you tried changing the off white to the same white in the portrait to see what that looks like? I like your typeface choices. They work well together.
