Project 3 Revisions
Here are my revisions to the Typecombo project from typography class. I changed the white outlines and elements to a subtle off-white tone in an attempt to add more harmony to this piece. I also tried to fix the formatting on the body copy.
Any critique and suggestions are always welcome.
This is going to be a strong portfolio piece I think. Question #1: For some reason the body copy under CoFo Chimera is vibrating with the background... and that would usually mean it is a blue (complimentary colors). Is that correct? If so... you need to change that. Why not just use black? Question #2: Tell me about the section on the left with words FL and FR. I notice that each column has a mixture of the fonts. So... then I start to think that you want me to read those 2 words together - to see who your use of the font combo helps create expressive typography. If that is true, then you probably need to eliminate the columns and negative space that comes down between the words. Instead, place words together. Lastly - notice that this section does not follow the margins you have set above and below in the other sections.... you are pretty close to the edge.
ReplyDeleteThis is such an interesting piece of work. I love the color palette and the concept. The block of asterisks with the @ signs is so playful. The block above that is a little confusing to me. I know that your concept seems to be about opposites, and I believe that was what you are trying to do with these two blocks, but the top one may need some refinement to keep with the concept. The word list is such a challenge. All of the words work together in theory, but my eye is unhappy with the shape of the negative space created. I wonder if rather than making two columns could you put the words close together with a "/" between? Or just together as if they are an oxymoron, like "beautiful beast" or "hardworking slacker", while still using the different typefaces as you are now. Great work on this since I saw it at critiques!
