Personal Logo--Big Update
Hey guys. After much experimenting and examination, I decided the way the gradients and shapes were layed in the old logo just wasn't what my original idea was at all. So, I really wanted a big overhaul on it. I still think the S is giving me issues and doesn't look the way I'd like, but the C and L look much more like what I originally wanted. The ribbon-like curled gradients is a very cool design trend that I had wanted to capture in some way when I'd first started sketching for this logo. It's a very hard thing to replicate in Illustrator but I feel quite a bit better about this direction.
I think this logo is really strong, and I like how the wavy textures inside the letters add to the shape of the logo. This makes the design really interactive and eye-catching. I am curious as to what you will do with the "graphic design" below.. are you going to stick with this look, or stylize it more?
ReplyDeleteChelsea - you've been working with this concept for awhile now. I can see that the "S" isn't exactly drawn in the same swirling, easy relaxed way that the "L" uses. Also - I see that the "C" appears to be a bit overly distorted at the bottom. So here is a new way to think about this - maybe you do not need ALL of these together? Maybe you want to use just 1, and employ it in the design like an Illuminated Manuscript would use an Illustrated capital letter? You will absolutely still need your name to be evident, so along with that letter (or letters) you will have your name AND graphic design. Honestly the inside brush work of the "L" appears to be the most successful of all the letters... but I'm not sure how that plays into how you will be using your middle name?? Do you use your middle name?
