I like the rework (the bottom one, right?) which is a bit more simplified than the original. Is there a way to enhance the portrait a bit, so it appears less faded into the black background? The rest of the colors in the composition suggest a light-hearted, fun message... and the golden frame really draws us into the portrait. So... make sure the portrait artwork itself really stands out.
ReplyDeleteThis is a visually pleasing piece of work. I like how you arranged the typographic portrait inside the frame, and your overall concept of a "Tour of Italy". I think the line should read, "TypeCombo.com presents" (missing the "s").? Also, the background colors are reading more pastel pink and green to me. Have you thought of trying darker hues? Nice job!
ReplyDeleteI really like the concept overall, and the silhouette with the type is really well done. I think however, that in the top design, the white box around the picture frame isn't needed.
ReplyDeleteOk, let me just say that the way you got the text in the portrait to mirror the wave like flow of the background is pretty amazing in my opinion. I love how much detail you have added to the portrait frame as well as all the brighter colors throughout.
ReplyDeleteThis is great work Sammi. It also really shows how much you have grown as an artist in such a small time frame.
