A design I did for typography class. The fonts I paired were Toms Handwritten New and Univers. Sagmeister's company is located in New York which is why I chose to use buildings in my design.
This typographic design is visually very interesting and I really like the pop of color throughout the grayscale. My only suggestion would be to rethink the copy portion where there is a description about Sagmeister, it's a little difficult to read that small point size with the building reflection in the background. Maybe you can shorten the length of it so that it sits just below the reflection.
This remains a really strong design - but some details need work. Yes - let's rewrite the paragraph of text so it uses better grammar and is shorter. (See me in class for help with that). FL would help it be more readable too. I am not sure about the use of yellow in the title to highlight those 2 words. What if the yellow was used just on areas of the letters where the sun shape might show through? It is almost happening with the word "new"... which made me think about that approach. Does the first 4 words appear much larger than the rest of the title? I think you could/should reduce "A Pair is Born" and the title would appear more cohesive.Do the x-heights match here... maybe they do, but a reduction is still needed I think.
This looks very professional. I just think that white letter Y is a little bit bothers eye. I would say take some power of it (less opacity, adding stroke, gradient,...)
