Projects 2&3
Hey all,
While these technically aren't "2&3" they were being made while I kinda neglected the list, so not only am I jumping around (mostly to avoid after effects), but I had totally forgotten that I could include these, so they weren't on the list in the first place.
Anyways, these are 3 record cover designs that I've been working on. The first is for my project, Cardigan, and was the cover for a demo that I released. I felt fairly happy with it (as its already been posted on Bandcamp) however I'm sure its a good idea to include it here as well.
The latter 2 images are current versions/drafts for the record cover of my band "Boring Girl" for our first album. I'm still going over changes with my band mates, however I imagine your input could be important!
The first design is intriguing... Body Hair. The type and texture are great. Question - the American peace sign is upside down, is that intentional? For your band Boring Girl - Have you uploaded any of your music online? I've searched on Bandcamp but not sure where you are? Would it be helpful to hear a sample before judging the design?
ReplyDeleteYep, the peace sign is intentional! And here's a link to our bandcamp if it helps: https://boringgirl.bandcamp.com/album/rebecca-ann-drive-demo , I'm not sure if it would really add too much as the typography is intentionally kinda "off-genre" but who knows. And thanks!
DeleteI listened. What instrument do you play? Clearly, having a background in classical music doesn't help me understand this music... but if I was to equate this music with a visual language, I would call it texture! So... using texture in the design would make sense to me.
DeleteI play bass! And texture is definitely something I try to incorporate a lot of, so now that you point it out I think it could definitely use more.
